The Willy Brandt Center Jerusalem (WBC) is a place of equal encounters between German, Israeli, and Palestinian young adults. On the basis of social and democratic values, the WBC puts ideas of the Civil Peace Service in to practice. The main aim is to build trust and solidarity among young people.
Following the vision of the Nobel peace laureate Willy Brandt, the WBC strives to develop and deepen intercultural and nonviolent communication structures. A team of young Germans, Israelis, and Palestinians work in the WBC to develop and implement these aims.
The WBC is located between East- and West- Jerusalem in the neighborhood Abu Tor/Al Thouri.

Can a democracy impose a military occupation while retaining its core democratic values? Since Israel conquered the „Territories“ in 1967, the military has developed a unique jurisdiction for it. The men entrusted with creating this legal framework were the members of Israel's military legal corps. The Law In These Parts asks: Can such an occupation be achieved within the principles of rule-of-law? Should it? What are the costs for the society? And what are the implications of the very effort to make a documentary film about such a system?

The Red Lounge is going online! For years WBC Jerusalem has been organising monthly film screenings and subsequent discussions with the makers of the film, activists and scholars. Now you can take part in these unique events, if you are in Bil’in, Be’er Sheva, Berlin, Barcelona, Baghdad...
The subsequent discussion will be made available to you via live-video stream. A live chat will give you the opportunity to take part in the discussion.
For a small annual contribution fee, you will be able to watch these critical, thought-provoking films online, most of them released only recently, some of them highly awarded, some of them unknown underground movies.

On 6th December, an enthusiastic crowd at the WBC Jerusalems IMAGINE CHANGE IMAGINE PARTY event voted graphic designer Ronny Edry’s „Vote for Peace“ initiative as the best alternative election campaign. His idea is as simple as it is compelling: to show the faces of people that say: we are not enemies. we love each other. WBC and Peace Factory are now joining forces for the next step: making peace sexy.

When war between Israel and Iran seemed imminent, Ronny Edry shared a
poster on Facebook of himself and his daughter with a bold message:
"Iranians ... we [heart] you." Other Israelis quickly created
their own posters with the same message -- and Iranians responded in kind.
The simple act of communication inspired surprising Facebook communities
like "Israel loves Iran," "Iran loves Israel" and even
"Palestine loves Israel."
Edry accidentally created an online movement for peace in the Middle East
when he posted a Facebook image that declared "Iranians, we will never
bomb your country.“
All this eventually developed into the PEACE FACTORY – here is the statement of the facebook site: “Once you see your enemy as a human being similar to yourself, understanding he doesn't hate you as years of propaganda succeed to make you believe, you can never go back to blind hate. You can start to know each other. You will be ready for peace.“
Together with WBC Jerusalem, Peace Factory is going to put this mission statement into practice. This is what’s going to happen: „The upcoming elections in Israel are going to be critical: we have the choice between two opposing visions of the Middle East. Between those who believe that there will never be peace - that the only option is to be prepared for the next round, and those who believe that peace is possible - that we have to talk no matter what happens, because only through peace can we all survive all together.
We are asking you to take part in convincing Israel and the Middle East
that peace Is the solution.
We want to convince Israelis to take a chance on Peace, to vote for peace,
to find a party that talk about peace and vote for it.
We need you to take a stand with us.
Prove, by showing your face, that there are good people in the entire
region – that there is not just endless hate, but even friendship and
love.
We will print and put those images on the street, on buses and in magazines
to show Israel that there are people who believe in, and want, peace and we
will ask them to give it a chance...to vote Peace.“
