with a red flag and a Che Guevara shirt”
Hapoel Katamon was established by former fans of Hapoel Jerusalem. Disenchanted by the management of this club, these fans decided to make a fresh start, and the new Hapoel Katamon began playing its first season this year, 2009/2010, in the 5th and lowest league. The team’s home games are attended by a greater number of fans than the games of most teams in the first league in Israel.
We followed the club and its fans during the last games of the season, and together with them we celebrated their promotion to the 4th league. The impressive atmosphere that surrounds the games is captured in this exhibition which presents photos of Yali Amit and a short video by Cheb Kammerer.
The main principle guiding the establishment of Hapoel Katamon F.C. was
the idea that the fans would be the sole owners of the club – no rich
donors and no business people would be involved.
Sporting success is without doubt one of the club’s most important
objectives, especially promotion to higher leagues. However, the owners of
Hapoel Katamon attach great importance to their social and ideological
beliefs, such as social justice and condemnation of violence. Sharing this
belief, the fans are united through their team, and each weekend they renew
their bond.
But they are not inactive during the rest of the week. Along with the
creation of the club, a volunteering program was established in which fans
tutor pupils in the neighborhood schools, or give Hebrew lessons to
children of new immigrants from Ethiopia.

הפועל קטמון הוקמה על ידי אוהדי הפועל
ירושלים. מאוכזבים מהנהלת המועדון,
האוהדים החליטו להקים קבוצה חדשה וכך,
המועדון "הפועל קטמון ירושלים" שיחק
את עונתו הראשונה, 2009/2010, במסגרת ליגה ג'.
כיום, מספר האוהדים שבאים למשחקי הבית של
הקבוצה עולה על מספרם של האוהדים אשר
פוקדים את מרבית המשחקים בליגת העל.
העיקרון המנחה העומד בבסיס הקמתו של
מועדון הכדורגל הפועל קטמון נובע מתוך
הגישה הקואופרטיבית, לפיה האוהדים הם אלו
שצריכים להחזיק בבעלות על קבוצתם ולא בעלי
ההון.
הצלחה ספורטיבית היא ללא ספק מטרת העל של
המועדון. אולם, הבעלים מייחסים משמעות רבה
לאמונותיהם האידיאולוגיות והחברתיות,
כגון: צדק חברתי וגינוי גזענות ואלימות.
במקביל לפעילות המועדון נוסדה "היוזמה
החברתית", מתוך התפיסה שקבוצת כדורגל
מהווה קהילה אשר ביכולתה לתרום לחינוך
וערכיות החברה. "ליגת השכונות" הוא
אחד מהפרויקטים של היוזמה, במסגרתו חברים
במועדון פועלים בבתי ספר ברחבי העיר
ומעבירים אימוני כדורגל ושיעורי תמיכה
בלימודים. אחת למספר שבועות מתקיימים
משחקים ומפגשי היכרות בין הקבוצות מבתי
הספר השונים. בנוסף, אחת לשנה מקיים
המועדון טורניר אוהדים בשם "כובשי
קטמון".
ליווינו את המועדון ואוהדיו במשך המשחקים
האחרונים של העונה, ויחד איתם חגגנו את
עלייתו לליגה ב'. הפועל קטמון גילתה בפנינו
כדורגל 'אחר', הנושא מסרים של אחווה, אחדות,
מסירות ואהבה. האווירה המרשימה השוררת
במשחקים משתקפת בתערוכה זו, המציגה את
צילומיו של יהלי עמית וסרט קצר של צ'ב
קמרר.

هبوعيل القطمون: الجانب الأحمر لكرة القدم
لقد قام مشجعو نادي هبوعيل يروشليم بإنشاء
نادي هبوعيل القطمون، وذلك نتيجة شعورهم
بالإحباط تجاه إدارة النادي، وهكذا كان،
فقد شارك هبوعيل القطمون في دوري كرة القدم
في موسمه الأول خلال العام 2009-2010 كفريق من
الدرجة الثالثة. الجدير بالذكر أن عدد
مشجعي الفريق الذين يأتون لمشاهدة
مبارياته يفوق عدد مشجعي فرق الدرجة
الممتازة.
لقد قمنا بمرافقة النادي ومشجعيه في مباريات نهاية الموسم الأخيرة، واحتفلنا معهم بمناسبة ترقي الفريق وتأهله للانضمام الى فرق الدرجة الثانية. جو اللعب المفعم بالحيوية ينعكس في هذا المعرض من خلال الصور التي قام يائير عميت بتصويرها والفلم القصير الذي أعده تشيب كريمر.
الفكرة من إقامة النادي وهذا ما يميزه هي رعاية المشجعين أنفسهم له مالياً فهم أصحاب الامتياز، وليسو بحاجة الى أصحاب الأموال والأثرياء من رجال الأعمال لرعاية ناديهم.
بالرغم من أن أعضاء النادي يولون اهتماماً لهدف الفوز في المباريات الرياضية، إلا أنهم يهتمون بالفكر الأيديولوجي والاجتماعي من وراء إنشاء مثل هذا النادي، والالتزام بقيم العدالة الاجتماعية، محاربة العنف والسلام بين الشعوب، فتنعكس تلك القيم في مجموع أنشطة الأعضاء الذين يتواصلون فيما بينهم في نهاية كل أسبوع.
إضافة الى فعاليات النادي الرياضية،
يقوم أعضاؤه بمساعدة الطلاب الذين يتعلمون
في مدرسة الحي، ويعلمون كذلك المهاجرين
الجدد الأحباش اللغة العبرية.
إضافة الى ذلك، يقام سنوياً دوري لكرة
القدم تحت اسم " محررو القطمون"،
يشارك فيه أطفال حي القطمون وأطفال من
القدس الشرقية.
